Amendment of Salary Scale for Chief Pharmacist and Pharmacists, Medical and Stores Departments.
1.
There are at present one Chief Pharmacist and three Pharmacists in the Medical Department and one Pharmacist in the Stores Department. salary scales are as follows:
Pharmacists: $640, 640 x 40 to $960 p.m.
Their
Chief Pharmacist: $1,000 x 60 to $1,300 p.m.
The Director of Medical Services has represented that on the score of training, qualifications and responsibilities the salary scale for Pharmacists should be the same as that for Radiographers, viz: 8640, 640 x 40 to $1,000 p.m. I have referred this matter for consideration by the Conditions of Service Committee which has advised that the scale for Pharmacists should be brought into line with that for Radiographers and that the scale for Chief Pharmacist should be amended to $1,060 x 60 to $1,300 p.m. The Committee further advised that amendment of these scales should be retrospective to 1/1/47.
2.
I am in agreement with these recommendations, which have been approved by Finance Committee. I should be glad to have your approval in respect of them also.
